The 1942-vintage steamer Alpena arrived in her namesake port on Sunday evening to load her first cargo of cement for the 2016 shipping season. As many will recall, she suffered a devastating on-board fire while at Sturgeon Bay for her five-year survey back in November. Her owners, Inland Lakes Management, decided to repair the vessel, to the delight of many boatwatchers.
