It’s been over a week since Sturgeon Bay saw any departures, but there has been plenty of work going on. On Friday, the large crane over the graving dock lowered the new diesel engine into the hull of the John G. Munson. The Munson was towed out of the graving dock on Saturday morning and moored in a slip, where work on securing the new engine will continue. According to a report on Boatnerd.com, the tug and barge combination Ashtabula/tug Defiance arrived last Sunday. The tug Defiance and the tank barge Great Lakes are in the floating drydock for various repair work. In addition, the tug Michigan (paired with Great Lakes), is in the small drydock. James R. Barker and Lee A. Tregurtha are having exhaust gas scrubbers installed, and American Courage remains in layup.
